In a candid YouTube video posted on March 5, Isabella recounted the unexpected complications following her initial round of chemotherapy.
High fevers became a regular occurrence, with any temperature above 100.4 necessitating a swift return to the hospital. After days of monitoring, a blood transfusion, and an MRI, Isabella was discharged, only to return less than 12 hours later due to a fever spike.
Maintaining her trademark humor, Isabella jokingly referred to “catfishing” everyone with her unexpected hospital return. Despite the challenging circumstances, she shares her experiences with a blend of authenticity and lightheartedness. “I got a fever of 102 and had to come back in,” she quipped, “So we’re trying to figure out what’s wrong, but no one can find out what’s wrong.” This development ultimately led to an emergency surgery to drain fluid from the back of her head.
Isabella initially disclosed her diagnosis of medulloblastoma, a malignant brain tumor, in October. Since then, she has been documenting her journey, offering insight into the hardships of chemotherapy. In a video posted on February 21, she described the initial week in the hospital as “horrible,” detailing the physical toll the treatment took on her. “It felt like someone had just ripped every single one of my teeth out,” she shared, highlighting the pain and difficulty she faced, even with simple tasks like drinking water.
Throughout this challenging journey, Isabella finds strength in her support system. Her father, Michael Strahan, a Super Bowl champion and television personality, stands as a pillar of support for her. Speaking about his daughter, Michael emphasized, “In a lot of ways, I’m the luckiest man in the world because I’ve got an amazing daughter.”
